Tell me more!

The course - worth £250 per individual - is FULLY-FUNDED by PaddlePod. It will take place Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th October at PaddlePod Newcastle (Killingworth), and will see successful individuals gain a recognised UK pool lifeguard qualification (NPLQ).

Once qualified, we have full-time, part-time and casual positions available.

We've said it before and we will say it again (because it really is amazing!)... This course is fully-funded and will see successful candidates offered full-time, part-time or casual roles with PaddlePod on completion.

The role

PaddlePod lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our swimmers and their families in and out of the water. You’ll be expected to supervise sessions within the pool, and to work closely with our teaching team. You will also be responsible for carrying out cleaning, safety and maintenance duties around the building, and this will include set-up and take-down of equipment in areas such as our soft play and sensory rooms.

Our lifeguards (full-time) act as responsible key holders, and play an important role in helping us to manage centre activities.

About PaddlePod

Our brand-new, state-of-the-art venues - located within Killingworth (NE12 5AB) and Shiremoor (NE27 0NB) - are visited by over 3,000 swimmers each and every week. We offer lessons (delivered by Nemo Swimming and SwimNE - two of the region’s leading swim schools), family swim sessions, swimming parties, and curriculum-based swimming lessons for local schools.

We also offer onsite cafes, soft play areas, sensory rooms and loads more - so we are a lot more than just a swimming pool! We are a hub for the community, and have built up a strong reputation with local families.

We are passionate about delivering the very best customer service, and every member of the PaddlePod team plays a role in helping us to do this.

How to apply

If you are interested in applying for our fully-funded lifeguard course, you will need to complete an application by 15th October.

There will be a short interview process to complete before you are accepted onto the course.
